Wow, take a few days off with a guest post-er and an interview, and I forget I still have to do the “work” of a blog post, so . . .
My first dog’s name was Tag.
My first horse’s name was Honora, a beautiful retired race mare by Citation. I didn’t get her until she was 18. The vet at the breeding farm was going to put her down because she hadn’t had a foal in five years. She had two more gorgeous colts for us. She lived to be 32 years old.
The first colt was nearly black but officially “dark brown or bay” by registration standards. He was named Honor an Eagle.
The second colt was a gorgeous chestnut named Sainted Cowboy who injured himself and didn’t make it to the races. He was incredibly fast.
The last three dogs I had were Ty (a male silver/black German Shepherd), Mandy (a black/tan German Shepherd), and Ezekiel, called Zeke (a black/tan cross of German Shepherd, possibly Akita, possibly wolf).
Lord, thank you for the love of animals in its proper perspective. Thank you that you never intended for them to live in discord with humanity. Thank you that one day the lion will lay down with the lamb. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.
