Into the Fire

Passionate thoughts about the world of writing and the Power of God

Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like mortal man and birds and animals and reptiles.

Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. They exchanged the truth of God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator – who is forever praised. Amen.

Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.

Romans 1:22-27 (NIV)

    And to continue:
    Verse 28-32:
“And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper, being filled with all unrighteousness, wickedness, greed, evil; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, malice; they are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, arrogant, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, without understanding, untrustworthy, unloving, unmerciful; and although they know the ordinance of God, that those who practice such things are worthy of death, they not only do the same, but also give hearty approval to those who practice them.”
These are sins that get my attention, Nicole, and the ones for which I have had to go before the King far too often.

Sin is sin, is it not, N.? We all have our “specialties” and must repent. I featured this scripture since the argument currently among post-modern Christians is not to acknowledge certain sins for what they are. Thank you for adding this.

Post-modernism is, I assume, why our local body became an expression of the Anglican Mission to the Americas and no longer a part of the Episcopal Church. One establishes the Bible as God’s truth, the other man’s ideas and whims.
