Five random special memories . . .

Saw Triple Crown winner Seattle Slew at Longacres Racetrack before he retired.

Sought out and met with British actor David Hemmings' personal manager when I went to London and saw David Hemmings in person on my last day in London.

Bing Crosby said "Good morning" to me at Bay Meadows Racetrack.

Saw a lot of great rock 'n' roll bands in the late 60s at the Eagles Auditorium in downtown Seattle.

Enjoyed meeting with author Robert Liparulo twice in person when he was in the Seattle area, and also author J. Mark Bertrand twice when he was teaching one summer at Seattle Pacific University and when he was on a book tour in the Seattle area.

Father, you've been so gracious to me. Thank you is never enough. Please continue to help me be the one you designed me to be. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

Those are very fun memories! (Wish Liparulo & Bertrand were still writing!)
Let’s see if I can think of five that aren’t family related …
*Being at the 7th game of the World Series in both 1987 & 1991 when the MN Twins beat the Cardinals (’87) and the Braves (’91).
*Singing back-up to Michael W. Smith. Okay, okay, I was part of a thousand-voice choir, but still it was a very cool experience… 🙂
*Having 2nd row seats to Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat when Donny Osmond played the lead.
*Having a book final in the 2012 ACFW Genesis Awards.
*Getting tickets to Hamilton when it came to Minneapolis.

Yes, I too wish Robert and Mark were still writing novels. Last I talked (via email) with Robert he told me he was working on a new novel, but he also said he was working with a studio to get one of his novels to the big screen. Mark – don’t know why he stopped. I know he was basically told (in an indirect way) his Roland March series was too gritty for Bethany House. Sorry state of Christian publishing if in fact that’s what happened – but probably not the primary reason Mark hasn’t produced a new novel – unless he’s writing under a pen name ???
Great memories, Bren. That’s awesome to be at the 7th game of the World Series when your team wins! And very exciting to make the Genesis finals! Very cool.
