Passionate thoughts about the world of writing and the Power of God

    Thinking

Well, it's Monday. I feel like I should post a review, but I've read three novels recently that were okay but not outstanding, and for that reason I can't muster the effort to give them a review. They were not "bad", the stories were decent, I liked some of the characters, but I confess not enough to further information or recommendations to the readers with whom I share similarities in reading preferences.

I'm declining to review a lot more novels lately. It's getting to the point that if they're not my standby authors' new releases or a new-to-me author who wows me, my reviews will be less frequent. It doesn't mean I've stopped reading. It means I haven't been impressed lately. Disappointing.

One high note: I've been writing the last few days on my novel! Anyone who cares to offer prayers for that purpose, they would be deeply appreciated.

It's Monday, and I'm without scintillating material. "Tune" in tomorrow. Pun intended.

Father, still thanking you for every word. Always desperate for you. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

I’m in the same boat as you. It’s been awhile since I’ve read a story that I couldn’t easily put down. Now, granted, life events have intervened this past year and have dampened my desire to read, so I won’t blame the authors for this.
Yay for you working on your next novel! I hope this one flows quicker for you than Race, although Race was well worth the wait.

Thank you for your comment on Race, Bren. You made my day with those lovely words. And this one has taken the extended time, but, yes, yay!, each time I return to it. Wish I was more disciplined but don’t think that’s gonna happen anytime soon.
Yes, I’ve been there when reading was more a chore than a pleasure and definitely when the curve balls struck from life. I know the books can’t always rank in our Top 10 lists, but we keep hoping they’ll pack a punch when we can get back to reading.
