Passionate thoughts about the world of writing and the Power of God

Five things I wish I could do:

Krav Maga

Write a thriller

Talk to Johnny Depp one on one

Help write the final Mitch Rapp story – creating the finally right love interest for him

See Race made into a movie – just because I think it would be the easiest one to do as far as sticking to the story

Father, you know my heart and what you want me to do. That's really all that matters. Help me to be the one you designed me to be. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

I’d love to see what you’d come up with for the final Mitch Rapp story. I’m not totally impressed with Kyle Mills. It just isn’t the same.
Wouldn’t it be fun to see our books made into movies?! I have Chain of Mercy cast already, I just need someone to produce it. 😀

Who? Who? Who! do you have to play those parts?!
I would agree it isn’t the same with Kyle Mills, but I think he’s doing an admirable job to fill huge writing shoes. I think the thing that Vince was capable of doing with HIS character is to capture the emotional turmoil – although rarely confronted – of Mitch Rapp. I don’t see it as skillfully done since he’s gone. (My reasoning is the God-quotient. As far as I’m able to discern, Mills is not spiritually inclined. Vince most definitely was a believer. In spite of Rapp’s ability to be a stone-cold killer when necessary, he had a distinct conscience to identify good and evil. That alone comes from God.)
I never understood the changes to and casting for American Assassin. A good action flick, it definitely was NOT American Assassin. The only casting they got right was casting Keaton as Rapp’s mentor role.
I would love to also see The Famous One made into a film, but I’m a terrible compromiser – so I couldn’t tolerate too many adjustments to the story. 😉

I have Brett Dalton (Agents of SHIELD) cast as Richard and either Hayley Atwell or Laura Osnes (a local girl gone Broadway) as Sheila. I’m with you on compromising, too. You want the story to stay the same.
Agreed about American Assassin. LOVED Keaton, but the rest were meh. It was a good story, but definitely not Vince Flynn’s version. Not a surprise, though, because Hollywood rarely gets it right.

Either of the two women looked the part, I agree. I had to look up all three of them (not a Marvel, etc., watcher). Somehow I pictured Richard as a bit more “sophisticated” looking.
I cannot for the life of me understand what they did to American Assassin. I think even worse than the casting of Mitch was the casting of Irene. Irene is fierce in a petite, understated way: the total opposite of how they cast her and Mitch was a “full grown man” even as a young agent. Not to mention the story changes. Anyway . . .

Ah, but there’s this picture of him in a grey suit that sells the part. 😀 https://daman.co.id/exclusive-feature-brett-dalton/. (You should also check out The Resurrection of Gavin Stone, it’s a Christian film produced by Dallas Jenkins, who also produces The Chosen. Dalton plays the lead of a Christian pretender very well.)
