There are still changes from these pictures taken just a week ago. The stairwell is now painted a shade of grey that accentuates the wood and complements the light metallic grey (Ralph Lauren's "Silver Wedding") on the entry wall (where the front door is). The orange in the dining room is Ralph Lauren's "Burnished Copper" which highlights the cedar slabs. In the before pictures of this area the chandelier was extremely low and even I, at 5' 4", bumped my head on it walking through the room. We removed links in the chain to elevate it to a reasonable level. So far, we've used five shades of grey, four metallic shades from the Ralph Lauren collection, and one warm light brown (Miller Paint's "Mantra") on three walls in the kitchen to contrast the Ralph Lauren's "Gilt Bronze" on two walls and the inside of the door leading to the deck. We also used "Mantra" on one side of the hallway and in the living room on two walls.

A partial view of and from our deck:

Special thanks to my BFF Debbie Anderson for her beautiful shots of our home. There will be more!

Father, there are no words to describe the gratitude and utter awe of what you've provided for us. No words could possibly be adequate. Thank you is never enough. Beyond grateful, gracious Lord. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

Romance lovers, here's the newest from Brenda S. Anderson. Slipping away briefly from her Women's Fiction genre to do a series romance, Brenda's new release is ready for pre-order.

Father, continue to direct Brenda's efforts in her writing and indie publications. Bless her hard work and devotion to her craft always with the mindset to glorify what you've done. Keep her safe and motivated. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

  •      (All the people, even the tax collectors, when they heard Jesus' words [Luke 7:18-28], acknowledged that God's way was right, because they had been baptized by John. But the Pharisees and experts in the law rejected God's purpose for themselves, because they had not been baptized by John.)

    Luke 7:29-30 (NIV)

A snapshot behind the series Magnum P. I., one of the best by Donald Bellisario. Definitely one of the superior series on network television.

Father, thank you for good entertainment, for the positive talents of those you've gifted with creative abilities for television and film. You are the impetus for every good thing, good moment, good, period. Thank you for your benevolence and grace. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

Fabulous fun! Loved this movie. So much.

Thank you, Lord, for fun and laughs. We're desperate for you and appreciate those moments when the world and its cares slip away as we immerse ourselves in the creativity of others. If only all of those who create realized the good and best ideas come from you. Thank you, God. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

Silly for sure but at least might generate a smile. Here's to Allstate for bringing humor into their advertisements with just the right actor to pull it off.

God, you must have a sense of humor watching us mess up in the silliest of ways. I'm sure you've rolled your eyes more than once on my goofy actions. Ah, well, life on planet earth. Thank you for each day. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

She does this perfectly. Her expressions, her voice, everything. Awesome. Makes me laugh. Gotta love it.

Again, Lord, thanks so much for humor. It's a wicked world and every laugh counts. Please bless those who do good humor. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

Because sometimes you just have to laugh. This commercial makes me laugh. So there you have it.

Father, thanks for laughing, hilarity, and just plain funny. We need it. Thank you for the joy of your salvation. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

  •      After John's messengers left, Jesus began to speak to the crowd about John. "What did you go into the desert to see? A reed swayed by the wind? If not, what did you go out to see? A man dressed in fine clothes? No, those who wear expensive clothes and indulge in luxury are in palaces. But what did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet. This is the one about whom it is written:

'I will send my messenger ahead of you, who will prepare your way before you.' [Malachi 3:1]

I tell you, among those born of women there is no one greater than John; yet the one who is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he."

    Luke 7:24-28 (NIV)
