Into the Fire

If I could, I would write a post to bless everyone who happened along in the blogosphere and parked here for a few moments. It would be poignant, succinct, well-spoken, and full of grace. An honesty would penetrate the message and the purity of being heartfelt would permeate the words. If I could . . .

I can’t say that everything I write is designed to appeal to all readers. Truthfully, I can say my hope in writing the various posts is that they will in fact touch a heart now and then, contain useful information, provide some entertainment, and garner some agreement–more agreement than disagreement. But even more than all of that, I pray that someone, anyone, would be strengthened in their walk with the Lord Jesus Christ, encouraged to look to Him if they’ve never considered it, and/or be exhorted to delve into a deeper, fuller relationship with the Savior of the world.

Because, when it’s all stripped down, when all the fun and games are over, when the neverending work is done, what else really matters? We fulfill our various callings in obedience to God out of our love and service to Jesus Christ. Although there are all kinds of perks in the process as well as the relationship, the outcome of those callings is of tantamount importance to our Father in heaven. He designed the individual plans for each of us, and He makes a way to get those plans accomplished. The plans center around rescuing the lost and pointing them to Jesus.

Anyway, this simple entry is an effort to show you that somehow, some way, I do hope this blog will bless you at some point along the way, that one of the entries touches your heart or makes you laugh or strenghtens your resolve to continue your walk and your call in renewed and impassioned faith because of who Jesus is and because He loves you beyond your abilities to imagine.

Thank you, Father, for your amazing diverse blessings. You are generous and kind, slow to anger and abounding in love. Jesus, may I serve you with my whole heart, complete devotion. Holy Spirit, teach me more, continue the grace you pour into my life, and fill me up over and over again. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.
