Into the Fire

So what now? After the resurrection . . .

Was it just another Easter for you? The morning at church? Festivities with family?

How was the service? Special singing? A drama or re-enactment of the Passion?

Did you cry or weep? Were you guilty with conviction? Did you re-evaluate your relationship with Jesus Christ or begin anew with Him?

And today? Just another Monday, another day at work? Will you see the same faces? Do they know who you are—I mean who you belong to? Do they know your relationship with Christ is what drives you, what can get you through the struggles sometimes faced on a daily basis?

Is the Holy Spirit leading you this day? Are you asking Him to give you words to say to encourage, exhort, speak truth with love?

Are you a ho-hum Christian today? Back to the same old, same old? Is there a fire in your heart for the Lord—is there anything to fan into flame?

Do you carry in your heart the price that was paid for the sins you find so hard to resist? Is it all an old, old story to you, one you’ve come to take for granted?

Don’t let your heart turn cold. Let the power of the resurrection flow through you, burning with passion for the One who saved your soul. Don’t forget His death but proceed with His life surging through you and out into this calloused and dying world. Use the talent He’s given you to do what He’s asked of you whenever He presents the opportunity. Receive His blessing after your obedience. Stay faithful. Rejoice in the Lord always.

Father, help me to always serve you, to not fail you as I’m prone to do, but instead to bless you with faithful obedience. Let me not get weary in doing good. I want to bless you. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.
