You ever feel guilty for being a bit disappointed, saddened, frustrated, or just down when the sun is shining gloriously, the temperature is going to be warm enough to be in shirtsleeves, and the smell of lilacs tracks to your nostrils allowing you a perfumed deep breath? It’s Spring after all! Marching toward summer, the wonder of sun more frequently, not having to turn the heat on in the morning, leaving windows open overnight . . . heavenly summer. Well, I do. And I’m adjusting my attitude.
I have blessing stacked upon blessing. No right to feel even a tad sad. Hey, it’s writing related. Not an unsolvable mystery. Not life and death. Not worthy of packing around dejection. The sun is out! God has given me this day, and I will be glad and rejoice in it. Right? Well . . . yes, it is right. Totally right. Right on even.
So there you have it: attitude adjustment in progress. Worthless blog entry. I sat facing this screen last night and was as blank as when it finally turned black. Sprung. Not idea one. Would you believe I dreamed a couple of perfect blog posts? I did. But I also forgot them. So, faithful few, you get this. Such as it is. Tinged with disappointment, but not defeated, etc. It’s Spring! It’s gorgeous outside, so that’s where I’ll be later on soaking up the sun, finishing Deception by Randy Alcorn—which I highly, whole-heartedly categorize in the MUST READ category for all you mystery and just-good-stories readers. Adding to the sunburn I got on Tuesday! I love the sun!
There. I’m better now.
Father, thank you for this lovely day. Thank you for the bright sunshine, and the thrilled voices of all the birds singing and proclaiming their joys at being alive in this wonderful weather. Glory to God in the Highest. And your peace to the “little girl” pouts of this not so young woman who needs you desperately day in and day out. Be close, dear Jesus, and remind me of all your incalculable riches in my life. Thank you, thank you. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.
