Into the Fire

Passionate thoughts about the world of writing and the Power of God

Love deep. Don’t just say it. Mean it. Show it. Learn it. You can’t get enough of it nor can you give enough of it. Don’t hold back—don’t keep some in reserve just in case. Let go. Trust the One who loves you most. Be His thoroughfare, His human outlet, His expression. Let Him flow through you.

Write from pain. Write from joy. Write with love. Write for certainty. Write the song. The mystery. The tale. The score. Write laughing. Write weeping. Write for smiles, for sorrows, for sly winks, for hidden treasures, for gifts, for charity, for taking in and giving out.

Define. Your life in Jesus. Don’t just speak of it: live it. Expand it, envelop it, respond to it, let it be the most real part of you. Don’t assume you’re doing it—make sure you are. Amplify it, amp it up, apply it, reveal it, ingest it, possess it, participate in it, partake of it, explore it, and offer it.

Father, I am yours. Ever wishing I would do more, see more, learn more, be more for you. Yet you love me. Nothing I can do will make you love me more. How astounding. I can’t compute it. I only know I need you for my every breath, thought, deed, idea, my existence. Apart from you I can do nothing. Please, Lord, continue to direct my steps and help me to stay rock solid in you. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.
