Into the Fire

What does it for you? I find a few things get me instantly agitated.

One of them is the down-your-nose, matter-of-fact explanation of evolution. Puh—leez.

Another is the same down-your-nose, matter-of-fact explanation of a certain theology. Unfortunate as it is for us Christians, we simply are not going to agree about some doctrinal issues. No matter how smug those particular scriptures make you feel as you recite them to prove your beliefs.

Global warming. I mean, c’mon. Don’t you think man is more than capable of igniting nuclear weapons to incinerate earth as we know it if he wasn’t afraid of the desolation that might get to him, too? Man isn’t going to destroy this earth. God is. Every scientist worth his credentials knows this earth has gone through climate changes and shifts. This nonsense that man can in any way “control” the outcome of climate and the survival of our planet speaks of the same arrogance evident in the natural selection crowd.

The absurd campaign to withdraw our troops from Iraq by those who unequivocally support the abortion of millions of children.

Racism of any kind. How can ANY human being think he is better than another human being? Flesh and blood.

God, help us. Through the last days, may we remain faithful, always seeking after you and your ways. Please, Lord. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.
