Into the Fire

Passionate thoughts about the world of writing and the Power of God

Seek the One who can answer, who truly cares about the question.

Look, listen, uncover, get down on hands and knees to find, discover, and learn.

Why should it all be easy? We take so much for granted. This is where the trials come, the tests live, the failures experienced, the triumphs shared. Here in imperfection.

Hold on to friends. Hold friends. Love them. Let them get close, serious. Need them.

Look up. See skies of all colors, clouds in all forms, weather uncontrolled by the likes of men.

Horses and maple trees tell of season’s change. Clues foretold in the fuzz of new hair and the hint of yellow soon-to-be orange leaves on the lawn.

Chosen. Unbelievable. Chosen! Rejoice that you have been chosen for life. Created for pleasure and purpose. Plans. Truth. Treasure.

Do not delay. Or lose sight of the glory. Or neglect your design. Or compromise your faith. Do not waste this precious life.

Lord God Almighty, you alone are praiseworthy. Thank you for it all. Help me to honor you, to make you smile, to bring you to laughter. Thank you for weeping with me, for keeping my tears, for knowing me. Please hear my heart and always, always help me to be the one you want me to be. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

Would love to see your book – I hopped over here from Angela Hunt’s blog. I have a tiny church library in my living room – well, over 100 titles, and I’m always looking to add. E-mail me at brekke2004@gmail.com, please πŸ™‚
