Father, thank you for beautiful music that stirs our souls and moves our hearts. Thank you for those who create and play it from your inspiration. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

**Please remember to pray for Kristy Dykes. Latest Update from Kristy:

MY TOES ARE FROZEN PEGS

My toes are frozen pegs in an outdoor laundry.
Hard shakes jerk my body.
The fever is back.

Scalp–itching–rivals…?
I order my hands: do not touch.
Sleep? Little. Ambien fights the steroids.

The birds sing—a cacophony of sound greeting the day.

But even that doesn’t lull me to sleep.

Pressure mounts in my brain.

***

Itching, itching, itching.
Will I scratch?
Torment.
Scratch.
Jerk hand away.
For good.

***

Turn on light.
Coconut flakes on red sheets.
Agast.

***

How can a giant fried marble hurt so much?

***

I choose to sing.
I choose to sing.
I choose to sing.

***

A song from childhood comes…

***

“There’s within my heart a melody,
Jesus whispers sweet and low.
‘Fear not, I am with you, Peace! Be still!
In all of life’s ebb and flow.’

“Jesus, Jesus, Jesus,
Sweetest name I know.
Fills my every longing,
Keeps me singing as I go.

“Though sometimes He leads through waters deep,
Trials fall across the way.
Though sometimes the path seems rough and steep,
See His footprints all the way.

“Jesus, Jesus, Jesus,
Sweetest name I know.
Fills my every longing,
Keeps me singing as I go.”

***

At the top, “fever” reads “fabak. Then I slide my chair to the left, come in close, sweep over the words, and I can read. Not speed reading like before. But still, reading.

Father, we cannot ignore the threat of death. Kristy has asked to live but has trusted you through all of these horrible symptoms of incurable brain cancer. We know you hear our prayers for her, and so we must rest in you. Still . . . we ask for your mercy and healing for Kristy Dykes. In the Mighty, Powerful Name above all names, in the Authority, Blood, and Name of your Son Jesus Christ. Amen.

I don’t know the first two, but I love the last 5 on your list.
    Along with those, I love:
    Glory
    Crimson Tide
    The Rock
John Williams’ classics: Star Wars, Superman, Indiana Jones
    The Patriot
John Powell’s scores for the Bourne trilogy

Yes, Indiana Jones is good, and the Bourne score is good, too. My son added Top Gun’s. I liked the ones from American Graffiti and Remember the Titans, too, but those two had “old favorites” instead of new “themes”. It’s of mild interest that I haven’t watched Gladiator or Braveheart, but I love the music. I know we have The Patriot, but I haven’t seen it either, and I don’t remember the music. (A Summer Place and Picnic are OLD films, but I bet you’d recognize those themes if you heard them even without knowing what they are.)

Oh, Breakfast at Tiffany’s produced Moon River, a classic.

And, is it the theme from The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly that’s so beautifully stark? It’s one of those Eastwood westerns.

    I like Shindler’s List.
And Like Snow on Cedars, I think it’s called.
As well as many already mentioned.
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory had great music.
Danny Elfman did it, I like his stuff in other movies, too.

Wow. I’d forgotten about Like Snow Falling on Cedars, Kay. Such a sad movie filmed in winter colors, but I can’t remember the music. Danny Elfman does all of Tim Burton’s music, right?

Yes, he’s done a lot, if not all, of Tim Burton’s. He’s also done some Spiderman, Batman, MIB, and others.
