Into the Fire

Passionate thoughts about the world of writing and the Power of God

Words are our game. Right? So here are a few of my favorites. Sometimes it’s difficult to separate the meaning or “character” of the word from its sound, but here are some of both kinds for me.

tenuous sparkling explosive fire crow audacity ultimate desperate surrender redemption lace linger lithe listen intricate portrait and portray magnificent whacked glistening provocative adrenaline zing phantom wistful zany capricious precocious perhaps . . . and forgive me for this one—it’s the powerful, emotional sound of the word in this case: bastard

How ’bout some of yours?

Father, thank you for your words to us—the best of all. Help us to hear them. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

I know I have some, but I can’t think of any off the top.
Apparently, if you go by my manuscript, they’re had, was, & that.
