Into the Fire

Certainly not back to normal. Looking out the window, the autumn day depicts no change. Not visible in the temperature or weather patterns here. But the fact that the sun has risen and it’s a new day indicates the ever present need for faith and hope.

Kay Day posted a worthwhile and important entry today on her blog, “Loop de Loops in La La Land” (which is not always as whimsical as it sounds), addressing the fact that when the people speak up and demand their freedom to live in sinful ways, they receive that freedom.

The only positive I can see in this election is that the people of the United States elected a black man to the oval office. However, I failed to see Barack Obama as a black man. I saw him as a Marxist/Socialist who decried personal wealth for others, but not for himself or his elitist friends and associates within and without the Democrat party who’ve acquired it, insisting it should be redistributed to those who don’t have as much, and it must be disseminated by the government, after their take of course.

And I wonder why Obama is such an icon for the black community when a black woman has held such esteemed and high positions in this land and in the world (Condi Rice) but condemned by her own racial community because she is a Republican. Or the desecration derived for Justice Clarence Thomas when he was being considered for the Supreme Court because he held conservative values. Or how Jim Jeffords’ corruption which was brought to life during the Katrina tragedy was ignored to the point where the media only gave it passing notice because he was a Democrat . . . This is racism within racism.

On Monday I posted about “real” unity and its source. Since those who are unbelievers do not share this source, I find it ludicrous to suggest we “unify” under any candidate, particularly one who is so far removed from my core values and political leanings. In a recent post by Mike Duran on his blog, “Decompose”, he referred to the “fractured” Christian voting bloc among other things. “Fractured” is the perfect word. The saddest and most disturbing part of dis-unity is when it appears within the church, eventually—probably sooner than later—paving the way for the apostasy.

I live in a state where one gigantic, heavily populated county and a couple of smaller counties determine all the important election results. These few counties are in the minority, but they are blue and produce the Democrat government in this state. As a result, we have huge property taxes, sales taxes, gas taxes, and of course a budget deficit with an implicated need for a state income tax. Why? Because if you give these people money, they find a way to spend it on something else besides what they said they would.

We are all relieved the campaigning is over. Some of us are deeply saddened by the results. This is not going to be a political or government commentary type of blog. The opinions expressed here are mine. I’ve already offended one of my readers who chose to abandon Into the Fire because of my opinions. I regret his choice, but I’m not surprised at his reaction. Anyway, we have a new president, I have the same governor and more Democrats to contend with. As soon as possible, we hope to leave this beautiful state, my home since my birth many years ago. So sad.

Back to . . . the drawing board?
