Into the Fire

Passionate thoughts about the world of writing and the Power of God

A few Christian authors you should read in no particular order:

Frank Peretti

Robert Liparulo

Tosca Lee

Francine Rivers

Lisa Samson

Stephen James

Sibella Giorello

J. Mark Bertrand

Chris Fabry

Charles Martin

Brandilyn Collins

Susan Meissner

Mike Dellosso

Travis Thrasher

Gina Holmes

Randy Singer

Tom Morrisey

Tim Downs

Mary E. DeMuth

Athol Dickson

Don Brown

You might not like all of their novels (of those who've written several), but these are a handful of superb authors.

In the future I hope to see the published novels from the following people:

Mark Harbeson

Dayle Arceneaux

Tim George

Kristen Torres-Toro

Brenda Anderson

Normandie Ward Fischer

Jessica Thomas

Josh Olds

Kirk Kraft

Brayden Hirsch

Robbi Burns

Brenda (Sorry I don't know your last name, other Brenda.)

Melissa Marsh

Sally Bradley

And of course I hope you will read me. 🙂

Father, let our hearts be focused on your will, merging ours with yours. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

Hmm…well of this list there are 5 (Peretti, Liparulo, Lee, James, and Thrasher) that I’ve read all their published fiction. Read a handful from many of the others, and working getting through them. Probably also add Randy Singer and Tim Downs to the list.
To the hopeful novelists, I would add:
    James Andrew Wilson
    Frank Redman
    Jeremy McNabb
and me…assuming I ever find time to write a novel 🙂

Consider it done, Josh. And good additions. There are more I’m sure I’ve forgotten. We’ll see if anyone adds some I’ve forgotten.

I’m blushing at being mentioned in the same post with such awesome authors!
The journey to just FINISHING the first draft of a novel has been so long and winding I don’t know that I’ll survive the road to publication, but I’m up for the trip.
Nicole – it really is kind of you to list me here. It’s all about Jesus and if anything (novel or otherwise) can encourage people, I’ll take that.

Excellent list of authors. I agree with every single name. I’d add Robin Parrish, W Dale Cramer, & Laura Frantz to my pubbed list & Stephanie & Don Prichard to the “someday” list.
And thanks, Nicole, for the mention among all those great authors. Someday, maybe, we’ll all leave that “hopeful” list to “hope fulfilled.”

Oh, and I forgot to mention Creston Mapes. Love his books.

Kirk, you have what it takes to get published. I know you do. And I agree, it’s ultimately all about Jesus. You go, guy.
Brenda, admittedly my list is abbreviated because I don’t generally read historicals, no bonnet books, or much speculative. I think Creston’s first book (Dark Star) was his best, but he’s one of those I’ll keep reading.
And I expect to see you in print one day, Brenda.

    And I love reading you!
Definitely agree W. Dale Cramer going on the list. And I agree with the others up there, absolutely!

Aw, thanks Nicole. I suppose that means I should work on a novel, huh?

Knowing you, Dayle, I’d guess Tosca or Athol.
