Into the Fire

Passionate thoughts about the world of writing and the Power of God

Today I’m blessed to attend the Northwest Ministry Conference where I’ll be manning the display table for thriller author Steven James, author of The Pawn, The Rook, The Knight, and The Bishop. So cool.

So if I don’t reply to comments on previous posts, I’ll catch up to them this evening.

I’m a bit surprised so few of you wanted to weigh in on your favorite genre(s). Thought it might be fun.

I also suggest you jog over to Tim George’s Unveiled blog to try to win a copy of Mark Mynheir’s The Corruptible.

That’s it for now.

Father, thank you for this opportunity. May I somehow bless those with whom I come in contact. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

Is it okay to say I’m a wee-bit jealous? 🙂 I think Steven James is the best writer in the CBA, not to mention his great crossover appeal.
    Enjoy your day, Nicole.

I’d feel the same way, Brenda. It was really fun. He’s just an easy-going nice guy. I pumped the sales of the Patrick Bowers’ Series, and my friend Jan who works with children’s ministries at her church sold a lot of the Kids’ workbooks.
The Queen will be out in September. Then he’s probably doing a prequel. Then The King. If sales are good, there may be a Checkmate.

I’m a wee bit jealous, too. I hope you enjoyed your time, Nicole. Sounds like it would have been a great opportunity!

Joleen, what a treasure you are! Thanks so much for spending time talking. It was my pleasure for sure. I have no doubt once your life affords you the time and space to write, you will be successful. You keep pursuing your heart’s passion. What a fabulous teacher you must be.
I’ll look forward to “hearing” from you here whenever you can spare the time.

Jerri, it really was fun. Steven’s a fun guy. He signed even the kids’ books for anyone who wanted them signed while he was at the table. Great writer and storyteller.

Actually, I like suspense or anything so good that it transcends the genre which is probably why I like Koontz so much. He’s a suspense writer but he doesn’t write straight suspense.
