Oh, this is my favorite question! I have a list. I’d learn to ride a Harley, and buy one to travel on. I’d travel around the US by car (or bike), taking in all of the cool little places I could find along the way and finish off my coffee table book. I’d buy a house on the beach in some exotic place so that I’d have a “home” when I wasn’t traveling where there was sand, sun, and general relaxation. And I would write fiction all the time instead of squeezing it in between nonfiction jobs that pay the bills. If money and time were no object…

With plenty of dogs and horses to keep me company. I would finally get to hibernate like a true introvert should, and sit around and write whatever stories grab my fancy. Ride, hike, learn to play the banjo, paint, draw, and tool around in my very cool Jeep Wrangler. Oh, and see all the places in the western United States I still haven’t seen (including my own state of AZ). This is all for starters. I’d learn how to design websites and catch myself up on all the technology and be able to work from home. Be my own boss.

Ah, thank you for this nice flight of fancy. But now I must return to the real world (which isn’t nearly as interesting as my scenario).

I would travel the country finding people in need and giving them a hand. Coming from poverty I understand what many don’t. For many, what many middle class and up would consider a small thing, such as: a car repair, a minor home repair, a little money (like $500) to get above water can make a huge difference in their lives. Remove the oppression for a time.
Skill? Billy Graham’s ability to connect the gospel to just about anyone.

Many years ago there used to be a TV series called “The Millionaire” where an anonymous donor had an assistant who delivered checks to unsuspecting people. You can imagine how much a million dollars was worth a long time ago.
I didn’t come from poverty, Dayle, but I know from my experience what it means to be unable to pay a bill, to need a car that works, and many other things. Yours is a grand idea. Thank you.
