Passionate thoughts about the world of writing and the Power of God

Okay, your turn. Tell me what comes to mind when you hear the word ROMANCE. Please: tell me.

Father, you know the real meaning of all things the way they were intended to be. The heart of romance belongs to you. Help us to never forget you are Love. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

    One word. Boring.
But there are a bazillion others who disagree with me so I am way outvoted. 😎

I guess I’m with Brenda J (You’re not alone). While I enjoy a book with romantic elements, plain romance novels usually bore me (there are exceptions). Typically in Christian fic, the protagonists are way too perfect and I can’t relate to them at all.

Brenda J., I thought you might say Alex O’Loughlin. Just kidding! Thank you for your honesty.
Brenda A., leave it to a writer to respond with the mention of novels. 😉

Hmm, is there romance outside of novels? My husband’s idea of a romantic date would be sharing a hot dog at a Twins’ game. You know, that doesn’t sound too bad …

It’s not the location or the atmosphere. More tomorrow. And, yeah, a baseball game and a hot dog. Cool.

LOL Nicole. Actually reading a book based on a special forces guy would be one of the few ways to get me to read a romance (if it was still high on the action, lower on the romance).

🙂 Have you read Vince Flynn’s novels? If Mitch Rapp doesn’t get your heart thumpin’ just a little: you’re dead. 😉

Well I got as far as buying one of Vince Flynn’s books, but sadly, I haven’t had a chance to read it yet. It’s on my to-do list.

Um…it’s packed away as I’m preparing to move. All I can tell you is the cover is very orange. LOL!

I think you have Term Limits, his first. This one doesn’t have Mitch Rapp in it. You don’t get to know Mitch until Transfer of Power, but if you want, his latest is the prequel Amercian Assassin and you could start there–when you get moved and all. 😉
