Passionate thoughts about the world of writing and the Power of God

If I asked what you liked least about writing a novel, what would you say?

Lord, thank you for the perseverance it takes to write. Thank you for the privilege of writing with you in mind. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

The thing I like least about the process of writing a novel is all the non-writing related aspects, with marketing at the top of the list.
If you mean THE actual writing itself, it’s the same thing that intrigues me–trying to come up with a more complex plot, even when I often don’t feel smart enough to achieve the task.
It’s why I write novels and not short stories–every time I cook up a plot idea, it keeps growing and evolving with lots of arms and tentacles.
That’s the way a lot of people do it of course, but when you’re relatively inexperienced like me, it’s a harder task.

Good answers you two. (And yes I meant the actual process of writing, B.)

While I love doing research, sometimes it’s so difficult finding people who are willing to offer character technical advice. People aren’t terribly willing to talk with a yet unpublished author. For example, I searched through many channels to find a naturalist who’d give me advice on their job, with zero response. But, I’m not giving up yet. 🙂

I can’t say I “love” doing research, but these are my feelings in a nutshell, Brenda. No response from professionals in fields you need in order to be authentic. Utter frustration.
