What's with all the shaved chests on guys? Actors, what is with that?

After all these years, all these many years, how is it that the sport of baseball has yet to find anyone to design a cup to fit baseball players? I mean, come on. These mal-adjusted cups must be repositioned all the time? Give me a break. Or batting gloves that must be re-fastened after every swing or non-swing of the bat? Really?

You know how women are, right? Because a man now has a "Man Cave", I think women will also want a "Lady Lair". I think I should have that copyrighted, don't you?

So what weird wonderings are you up to?

 

God, thank you that you smile. Thank you for laughter. You knew we'd need it. Please help me keep fun in the picture of my life. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

    LOL! I don’t watch team sports, but when you talked about the fastening/unfastening of gloves, that reminds of the ritual moves of tennis players as they focus on the next point.
    I learned that today is “I want to be alone!” day. Sadly, this day, like every other day, will make it impossible for me to celebrate it. But at least I know that someone else wants to be alone enough to create a day for it. 😎

    Every athlete in a sport seems to have their affectations. (Don’t we all?) It’s just that now with all the in depth all angle coverage, we must be subjected to all the “adjustments”. Even the constant pulling down of female gymnasts tiny little leotards over their buttocks. I mean, c’mon. Can’t we have outfits designed where all the pulling, shifting, shoving, isn’t necessary and still cover/protect the various body parts?
    Truly “alone” for any length of time . . . a scary thought. Temporarily? Can be refreshing.

    I’m wondering if it has more to do with lack of air flow than size. Maybe they need to design a more breathable cup. Ewwwwww….

    I’m your opposite Nicole. 99.9% of the people are in your camp–not finding aloneness appealing. I crave it but rarely get it (if I’m really, really lucky, I get about 6 hours a week). Not at home, and most certainly never at work. I bet that’s the one plea that the Lord hears the most often from my lips. I want some time alone!
    RE: Having clothing that doesn’t need to be adjusted: (Men who are reading, please forgive me) Well if in all these many centuries no one has STILL figured out a way to design a sports bra that does the job, is easy to put on, and doesn’t crush you, then no, I doubt they are capable of designing other sports clothes that don’t need to be tweaked, pulled, and adjusted.

    Ha, Jess! Air flow. I’d like to see the marketing for that. I’m sayin’ various sizes that absolutely fit no matter the movement. At least fit better for the various stances and movements. Adjustment every time at bat, every slide, every running . . . Geez.
    And, yeah, Brenda, you’re right. Sports bras are a good example of a product needing improvement.
    Don’t get me wrong, Brenda. I get a lot of time alone. And I enjoy it. Really do. But I think I can slip into enjoying it too much, become a recluse of sorts. I totally understand your desire and need for it. I do. Maybe just a little too much.

    The cup adjustments are born out of fear. It would take years of pavlovian training to even put a dent in that one. The idea of a solid object being in that proximity is too much for us.
    The other things are nerve tics. They may not even be aware they’re doing it.

    Yeah, those nerve tics are amusing.
    It’s a non-issue comparing the protection of the family jewels to anything for men. Believe me, I know. One husband, two sons. However, just once it would be cool to give you guys the experience of un-medicated labor and human birth pain. Then we could compare notes, huh? 😉

    It’s funny you say that becaused I proffered in my sunday school class my belief that child birth is not that bad. I get it. Exaggerate the ordeal to get sympathy from men.
    Before ya’ll grab the pitchforks, here’s my evidence:
    If it was that bad, Women would only have 1 child. Women would not then push their daughters to have 1.
    If I hit my toe with a hammer, I don’t run to my son and say here hit your toe with this hammer.

    Dayle, in all seriousness, it is that bad in certain cases (posterior with back labor), and the fact that we choose to go through it again proves how much we love our children. Well, and then the next time, we set aside our inner hippie and decide to go for the epidural because we don’t want to deal with the post-trauma again. Still, centimeters 6 to 7 (for me anyway) are enough to make a soldier cry.

    Let’s not forget the upper uterine pain that resists the epidural. And the tearing of flesh requiring stitches. Ouch. And ouch again. “You will have pain in childbirth.” Aah, the consequences of sin.
