Into the Fire

Passionate thoughts about the world of writing and the Power of God

". . . Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

"Be careful, or your hearts will be weighed down with dissipation, drunkenness and the anxieties of life, and that day will close on you unexpectedly like a trap. For it will come upon all those who live on the face of the whole earth. Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen, and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man."

Luke 21:33-36 (NIV)

Well I’ve been spared the drunkenness part, but anxieties surely are a trap. Fortunately for me, I’ve got a very patient God who doesn’t mind re-re-re-reminding me that He’s in control. 😎

A scripture that can surely inspire anxiety, huh? I mean we know what’s coming, but we get caught up in the everyday. Ultimately it’s about trust, and, let’s face it, sometimes we don’t have any or we put it in the wrong places. “Cast all your cares on Him because He cares for you.” Sometimes we just don’t quite believe it . . .
