I went to work after my first year at the U of W to save money to go to Europe. The impetus was a British actor. I talked a girlfriend into going with me and we left in late September just after my 20th birthday. We returned in December a few days before Christmas. On my final day there I saw the actor at his agent’s office and he said “Good morning” to me. Long story. 😉 My girlfriend became a multi-time visitor to all the countries we didn’t get to see. She caught the traveling bug before she finished her education and became a graphics artist. I went to the racetrack.
