Passionate thoughts about the world of writing and the Power of God

Negative

So? Do it quick now. Top three negatives you perceive yourself to have. Here are mine.

                Jealous        Stubborn       Suspicious

Am I jealous of "things" people have? No. I'm jealous when women speak to my husband first without acknowledging me – when any women act like that. Some Christians insist on replacing the word stubborn with determined. Huh-uh. I'm stubborn. Sometimes it's a good thing. Other times: not so much. And, yeah, I'm suspicious of just about everything and everyone until I can discern the situation.

Lord, help me to be the one you want me to be. All my negatives are generated by my flesh. Any goodness belongs to you. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

    Distrustful
Impatient (VERY patient in some things, but short fused in others)
(those 2 came very easily. As for #3….)
    Uh…
Critical (but I’m not wholly convinced that in itself is negative–my primary spiritual gift is telling forth so the two really go hand in hand. Of course, there’s always a bad way to do things.

I thought about adding impatient to mine, Brenda, but the Lord has whittled it down to managable by forcing me to wait. I can definitely be impatient but not as much as I used to be. And I, too, thought about critical, but, like you, it isn’t always a bad thing: it’s how and how much and why one’s critical that matters. Thanks for your bravery. 😉

Patience is according to the situation. If the trainer keeps rescheduling my sessions, I tend to be able to exercise a lot of patience, knowing his crazy schedule (though I do at times get irritated).
But ZERO patience with a misbehaved dog, when I’ve taught that dog a million times over the proper behavior in that situation. In fact, I think my primary problem with impatience comes under the category of me having to restate something to someone that I’ve already told them a thousand times. Zero tolerance. Because it’s a waste of my time to have to keep restating the obvious and it ticks me off.
