Passionate thoughts about the world of writing and the Power of God

I was born and raised in Seattle, Washington. I lived here when the Space Needle was built for the World's Fair. For me, the city has gained many things but lost so much more. It's now a haven for liberalism, and common sense has in many cases been forced out of its borders.

New Year's Day is here. 2014 proceeds as a result of God's grace. What will it bring? Only He knows. As I said yesterday, my hope is His modified and specific justice will be served. I will leave you with this scripture to ponder as this new year begins:

Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.  Galatians 6:7 (NIV)

Cool pic. And the verse is very true, though some would think they are in control (even as we sometimes ourselves think we’re in control).
Happy New Year, Nicole and to all the commenters too!

Minneapolis & Seattle are sister cities, I think. I do love the area–nature’s landscape, music, theater, sports (even the Vikings)–and I can’t imagine living anywhere else, but the self-righteousness of the intolerant tolerant is very tiring.
Wishing you a very blessed New Year, Nicole.

To my two favorite Brendas in all the world: May the Lord cover you with His banner of Love, enrich you with fresh insights into who He is, recover your joy if it’s gone astray, and fill you with His hope in you: Christ in you, the Hope of Glory. Love you guys.
