Into the Fire

Passionate thoughts about the world of writing and the Power of God

                      0001

Here are five things I would love to have/use if ever I had the chance. (Fat chance, but still . . .)

I. My own tailor.

II. Custom-made shoes.

III. A personal trainer.

IV. A cook.

V. A swimming pool.

Luxuries. I won't ever have them. And I don't yearn for them or even hope for them. But any one of those five (V) items would be so cool. How 'bout you? Any luxuries you'd indulge if you could?

Father, I don't need any of the above. You know my heart. As the song goes: prone to wander. But I belong to you, and that's all I need. Thank you for rescuing me. Words are never enough. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

#3 on your list is my favorite.
    Mine are:
    1. A place of my own (for peace, quiet, & order)
    2. A home gym w/complete setup for muscular, aerobic and flexibility fitness
    3. Jeep Wrangler
    4. A life lived not driven by the greed of others
    5. A life where mornings are my own

Yours are far more reasonable than mine, Brenda. And I hope you get all of them.

I’d go for any of your top 5, Nicole!
My #1 would be a cabin on Lake Superior’s shore. Just think of the writing I could get done! (When I’m not marveling at God’s creation.)
#2 – Theater season tickets to some of Mpls’/St. Paul’s theater venues. I could watch plays all the time!
#3 – A mud room. Yeah, that doesn’t sound like much, but here in Minnesota in our never-ending winter (snowed 8+ inches last night & we’re getting more throughout the day! This is an unusual April even for Minnesota!), I’d give anything to have a separate room for all our coats & boots.
#4 – I’ll go with your personal trainer.
#5 – A home theater room. 🙂 Our family loves movies, so it would be a perfect room for family gatherings.

Ooh, love the cabin idea, Bren. And I totally get the mud room concept. More snow?! Yuck. Not my favorite thing, especially in the spring.
Our family room transforms into a movie room with my son’s great (and very loud) surround sound speakers with sub-woofer (Cerwin-Vega). It’s awesome, but – again if I could – I’d have a room just for movies decorated with all my movie posters which are currently in a closet waiting for that day …
