The Patrick Bower Series aka The Bowers Files is not for the timid. Well-written crime thrillers at their finest.

There's an entire series of Jack Noble books by Lee Ryan. Not your typical espionage novels but with many of the same elements. Thrillers with a rough-around-the-edges hero.

I can never leave out my favorite espionage/political thriller writer: the late Vince Flynn. None better in his genre. Truly insider knowledge. Great books. And one of the best heroes in literature: Mitch Rapp. Unequaled actually. Term Limits was Vince's first novel and it's a good one, but it did not yet reveal Mitch Rapp. (All of his books are reviewed on this blog.)

 

Thank you for these great authors, Lord. Definitely a divine calling. Please continue to bless those who write – especially when it's done to honor you. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

    I think I just downloaded an L.T. Ryan book to my kindle last night. Trying to squeeze in some leisure reading between textbooks. Also trying to work my way through a biography on Richard Nixon whenever I get a chance.

    Like I said, Brenda, he’s a rough-around-the-edges character. I like him or I wouldn’t have read so many of the novels. Hope you enjoy the book you ordered and find time to read it.

    L.T. Ryan is on my to-read list, thanks to your recommendation. And my dear husband grabbed our copy of Checkmate before I could start. 😦 And he’s such a s-l-o-w reader I might have to get another copy from the library.
