I rarely go back, Lynnette. But there were a few movies that never left me – not that I’d watch them again now, but they impacted me for sure. This was one of them.

Oh mom loves Debbie Reynolds! She never said it, but I think that’s why she named me Debra but insisted on calling me Debbie. When my younger cousin Tamera was born, she was called Tammy, and of course my mom often sang this song to her! Thanks for the trip down memory lane, Nicole.

Why did Tammy come up twice in a week? Good question. I was at a writing retreat, and one of the authors is an old movie buff. I don’t remember what precipitated the conversation, but someone asked who sang the song “Tammy”. Most people had never heard of the song, but I remembered it from my mom’s old 45’s & guessed at Debbie Reynolds. You just proved me right. 🙂
