I’d love something similar in a light wood finish, maybe just a bit smaller. Love all the counter space and the open plan.

I admit it’s larger than most of us need, but after my tiny u-shaped kitchen with not much cupboard space and two people trying to get or do something in it is one too many – this plan is luxurious to the max. I love pine, so I could go for pine cupboards, etc. Just dreamin’. 😉

It’s good to dream, isn’t it? I LOVE the island and the open spaces. I have an extremely large family (when we all get together, which still happens!) so I’d love a kitchen this large. I don’t like to cook, but the kitchen is always the place everyone congregates.
As for color scheme, I don’t care for whites & creams, looks dirty way too fast. Give me cherry wood cabinets, darker floors, & quartz countertops & I’d be deliriously happy.

I know what you mean. Even though I’m just one person and rarely do any gatherings, I still like space to flap my wings. And since I’m trying to learn to cook but suck at it, I’ve got to have a lot of space to spread out all my stuff when I’m trying a new recipe.
I just moved into a new apartment of my own (formerly shared a different apartment and my roommate was extremely messy and junked up what little counter space there was) and the sink has–I don’t know the proper term, but off to the left of it it has an island extension (peninsula?). That has been a big help.
I’ve never had a home of my own and am hoping that will happen within the next year so that I can have dogs again, but as I look at houses I’m definitely eyeballing the design of the kitchen as a key factor.

I agree, Bren, a good kitchen is a hot zone. People hang out there, and it would be sooo good to have the open space and the luxury of plenty of cabinets, etc. to welcome it.
Brenda, I’ll be praying for your future home. I hear they’re quite reasonable in Arizona. Yes, kitchens are a big deal in selecting a home for me.

WOW! That is so gorgeous! That’s the first kitchen I’ve ever seen with white cabinets that I actually like. Somehow, it works in this kitchen. I’m not a good cook and only do it out of love for my family rather than cooking for the enjoyment of cooking. Most huge kitchens I’ve seen have hanging pot racks and various other things that, rather than looking functional and attractive, just look like a lot of work! This kitchen looks functional and beautiful. But I would hate to be the one who had to clean all that flooring!

And in watching HGTV the kitchen and the master bedroom/bath is what they always zero in on fixing up first.

Makes sense to me, Brenda. Two important rooms for most buyers. For us: we gotta have a fireplace or two. (Not so much in Arizona I would imagine.)
Deb, isn’t it beautiful? I love it. I’d even settle for the white if it came looking like this one. I agree with your opinion of the hanging pots. I’m short so it’s not a feature I’d necessarily appreciate or use.
