I like it. I’m beginning to appreciate a patterned back-splash as I see them more. If subtly and tastefully done, they’re good. The problem is envisioning how it’s going to look when you pick stuff out. If you’re a designer you can see it easily, but for the average Joe I think it’s a lot harder.

I agree on all counts, Brenda. I’ve found that some of the granite, etc., countertops, while pretty in samples, come off as awfully busy in certain kitchens. I guess in other words they don’t translate well to some combinations but are “shown off” just because they’re granite. And, yeah, we average Joes might have a vision in our minds but converting it to reality? Not always priceless in action or cost.
