Into the Fire

Passionate thoughts about the world of writing and the Power of God

Number5

Okay, another late Friday with little imagination. So. Here are my five favorite colors in order of preference.

Black (Doesn't look very black because you can't see it if I make it a true black.)

Yellow

Red

Grey

Navy Blue

God, I can't imagine the stellar brilliance of heaven's colors. The clarity without the sin-stained shadow. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

My stand out favorite is purple.
    Red for selective uses
    Black
    Blue
    Pine green.
One of the most highly overrated colors on the face of the earth is pink. UGH!

This is actually hard for me! It would be easier for me to list the colors I don’t like! There are some colors that I love to wear but would not want for furniture or a car or a wall color. I always choose a shade of red for a car, but wear it sparingly and would never want it in my home. I also realized that my color preferences for home furnishings reflect the style and location of home. I look great in almost every shade of pink and purple, but don’t want either for a car or in my home. I don’t particularly like black except it’s the only color I like for a grand piano. I love every color for flowers. But here are the colors that I like for everything.
    – navy blue (also indigo and denim!)
    – burgundy or maybe it’s maroon (not sure of the difference really)
    – forest green
    – ivory (yes, I would have this in a car if someone washed it for me daily)
    – gray

Thank you, Ladies! I’ve learned I really like the winter colors for clothing: shades of grey, brown, and always always black. I hated pink as a young girl and woman, but I happen to look quite good in pink – go figure. I always associated it with girly-girl stuff, and even though I’m a diehard romantic, I’m not a girly-girl. But pink in certain clothing is okay with me – not in anything else.
I’m not a fan of blue except for navy, very light shades, and teal.
Same with green, only forest greens.
For reds: true reds and crimsons, not the derivatives for the most part.
Really appreciate your likes and dislikes!

Good point Debra. I LOVE yellow–on roses, and while I love the color red, I just can’t wear it because I’m very red-toned in complexion (take after my Daddy that way). They all have their place and time. 😎

All this talk of color makes me think of a random fond memory–when I was a teenager, I had a really cool dress made of red/black plaid(sp?) (same print like a man’s winter plaid shirt) with a black belt (that was in the 80’s when belts were all the rage). Loved that dress (my sisters hated it) but I was broken-hearted when it wore out and had to be thrown away (or maybe my sister threw it away on purpose–can’t remember).
But things change. I don’t even wear dresses any more. LOL!

Your comment flashed a random memory for me, Brenda. About a dress I wore to I think my boyfriend’s Junior Prom. It was black (of course) and lace covered with long sleeves and just above the knee if memory serves, with cloth covered round buttons down the length of the front of the dress fitting into eyelet loops. Man, I loved that dress.
Love red and black plaid. And with a belt? Cool.
