There is no character like Mitch Rapp. He's the ultimate hero. Vince Flynn left us with a one of a kind character, and Kyle Mills takes on his legacy. I wish Kyle all the best because it's a formidable task. I'll be reading, and I can't wait.

Lord, please bless all of Kyle Mills' efforts to continue Vince's work. A noble task. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

I need to pre-order so I’m all set. Although I’m behind in the series. I had just started Consent to Kill when fall semester started so I’m still behind in the series.
I’m a little nervous about someone else taking up where Mr. Flynn left off. I’m sure he will do his best, but despite the fact that on the surface a lot of fiction looks the same, an author’s voice truly is like their fingerprint.
But the good thing is there were several books already out to build on. I’m glad to give it a shot.

If you have to skip any of the books after Consent to Kill (which is my favorite), you must read the two previous to Survivor to really be ready for it. I agree an author’s voice is like their fingerprint, but, as you say, there were several books to establish who Mitch and Irene are, and they’re the central characters who need to be captured. I’m hoping he can do it, and I’m glad he’s going to try.

I think that’s a pretty cool challenge and I give Mr. Mills absolute kudos for having the guts to take it on. Talk about pressure!
That would be like someone asking me to continue Zane Grey’s legacy. I’d wet my pants.

I once wrote a concluding “script” for Magnum PI. I thought I captured his, Higgins, and his two best friends’ voices quite well. You do get to “know” them after several seasons of watching, and it gets to be the same with “reading” them.
    😉 No you wouldn’t.
(How’d you like the new 5-0?)

RE: The latest Vince Flynn/Kyle Mills work–I just went to Amazon but balked. $15 bucks. I hope they know what they’re doing with that price strategy. For $15 bucks I could buy half a non-fiction book that I would use over and over. Maybe people have a lot more discretionary income than I think but I think that’s going to hurt in the long run. But what do I know. There’s already 25 people waiting to borrow this book at the library. 😎
RE: Five-0 season 6 opener. I’m sorry to say that was the most mediocre season opener of the entire Five-0 series. S1-4 had strong openers, I’ve tried to obliterate S5 from my mind, but this was just blah.
For one thing, I was hoping we WOULDN”T have to spend a lot of screen time on Kono’s storyline. I like her just fine, but I’m completely disinterested in that thread. But even apart from that, I detected a low energy from everyone involved–even the dance at the wedding seemed subdued by all parties involved. We’ll see what the next episodes bring but I have a bad feeling the writers just don’t know what to do with the show. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if S6 is the last season.
Speaking of last seasons, how was the finale of CSI?

I recorded it to watch uninterrupted by myself today. 😉
You could be right, Brenda, which is a shame. Investigative series in Hawaii? What’s not to love and find to write about. We shall see. Too bad the producer isn’t Bellisario – he manages to keep his seasons interesting for many years.
For a hardcover, that’s a pretty average price for bestsellers. I know it’ll be on sale at B&N, but I don’t know for how much.

That was the KINDLE price! No printing involved.

No way. You can probably get a hardcover for that price at the store. I know you preserve space with your Kindle, but . . .
