So many wonderful fruits you placed on this earth, Lord. Such unique flavors, shapes, colors, textures. Amazing. Thank you for all of them. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

Oh you may be sorry you mentioned raspberries, as that brings on a rant. LOL! I love, love, LOVE raspberries, my favorite fruit above all.
However, the raspberries have been sky high priced all year (at least here in AZ) so I didn’t have any until I finally broke down in desperation and bought a flat of them last month. NASTY! Sour, yucky, shaped-but-did-not-taste-like raspberries. What a disappointment. I hope next year is a better year for raspberries. I used to be able to pick wild raspberries and blackberries when I lived in MD.
    So my 5 are:
    1. Raspberries
    2. Cantaloupe (though I suck at picking out good cantaloupe. Just can’t seem to get it right). Great with cottage cheese and pepper.
    3. Apples (love them cut up and mixed with cottage cheese, vanilla yogurt and topped with cinnamon.)
    4. Strawberries (usually the fallback fruit–you can find a strawberry even if you can’t find anything else.
    5. Peaches. Actually, peaches are really my second favorite after raspberries but I very rarely find good peaches out west. You gotta go to the southeast if you want a tasty peach.
I think I’m one of the few who doesn’t care for watermelon. Watermelon Jolly Ranchers? OK. But if my choice is watermelon or nothing, I’ll take nothing.

We had decent raspberries this year. So disappointing (since they’re usually expensive even here where you can grow them easily) when they’re not any good. Watermelon is my husband’s favorite – he’s a Louisiana boy and ate them from his grandparents’ garden. For me, a will-not-eat fruit is/are pears. Just no.
I love nectarines, peaches, mangoes, and blueberries and strawberries, but I thought I’d mix it up a little today.
Canteloupe with cottage cheese and pepper?! Weird. 😉 Picking out good ones is a challenge and with watermelons too.

Pears I’ve tried once or twice but I just can’t seem to learn to like them. I had never tried a mango until this summer–I’m not sure if I just didn’t pick out a good one or what but I didn’t like that either. Too bad as they have a lot of good-for-you in them.

If you get a good mango, they’re delicious. Sweet and juicy. So good.

For some reason I find fruits by themselves, just okay. But in oatmeal, cold cereal, a smoothie, yogurt or cottage cheese, I love them. I also love mixed-fruit juices, cold or warm. My mom said bananas were the only thing I would eat as a baby. Here are my five favorites, I think. I could easily add a couple more!
    raspberries
    pineapples
    mangos
    strawberries
    blueberries

Good reminder, Debra. I love pineapple too although I don’t go out of my way to eat it–love it on Pizza Hut pizza 8-). When I got a Ninja blender about a year ago I went bananas making smoothies (p.s. if you have tried already, blueberries do not blend well for some reason). But I made so many smoothies that, good as they were, I kind’ve got sick of them so I’m taking a break from smoothie making at the moment. LOL!

Good selection, Deb. I love certain fruit smoothies. Don’t prefer fruit in cereal. Yes, I like pineapple too.
    (Welcome home. 😉 )
