Passionate thoughts about the world of writing and the Power of God

This one brings tears to my eyes every time. Who am I kidding? I cry out loud and have to leave the room. What a beautiful commercial. Every little girl's dream . . . at least it was mine.

God, you put that amazing love for horses in me. Then you fulfilled my dreams of owning and being around them. Then you allowed me to capture a story about racing them. I'm always in your debt for all you've done for me. I love you, Lord. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

Yep, it’s awesome. Many companies have made many very good commercials, but I don’t think Budweiser can be topped in impact.

Me neither. And although many, many years ago I would force down a Budweiser longneck (never really liked beer but Bud was better than most), even non-alcohol drinkers appreciate their sheer beauty and meaningful themes. They’ve taken a piece of life and capsulized it without overselling the product and are satisfied to make a beautiful statement without emphasizing their product.

Oh that is a great one! Budweiser’s been brilliant, creating what amounts to short stories that touch the viewer’s heart. I was disappointed they didn’t have a heart-warming commercial this year.

Me too, Bren. I was waiting for it, but it never showed. 😦

So they didn’t do a commercial at all? I wondered because nobody said anything about it post-Superbowl. Hmmm…I actually think it’s good strategy to SKIP a year–build the anticipation for the next one.
Realistically, they’ve knocked it not out of the ballpark but out of the known stratosphere with their recent commercials, so a break was probably best while they dream ‘n scheme. They’ve made their own-selves a hard act to follow. 😎

True. They showed the bridle and harness being placed on one of the Clydes, and I said to my son, “Here we go for a REAL commercial”, but then they just switched to a non-Clydesdale commercial for Bud. Maybe skipping a year will give us another great one next year.
