Friday Five

     Red-number-5

Five things that have become the most difficult about moving:

Fitting items to a box size while attempting not to make them too heavy for me to lift

Feeling overwhelmed as each room is pictured with all that must be packed

Realizing my kitchen will be "under construction" almost immediately for probably 4 to 6 weeks

Hoping our horse and dog will adapt quickly

The sheer volume of "stuff" that must be transported

I am not complaining. We are the new owners of a home!

 

Father, you've given us a new place to fill with your design for our lives. May we honor you in all we do from there. Thank you is never enough. We love you, Lord. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

    What worked for me was fitting everything into copy paper boxes. That way the boxes were manageable.
    What a load of stress. But there will be an end to it.
    I’m telling myself that too. I’m not packing up yet but I have to give up my apartment and move someplace else by the end of May. So this week that I took off for “vacation” has been filled with looking at different properties. I’m tired of it already. LOL!
    But persist we must.
    Are you totally re-doing your new home’s kithen?

    Moving is never fun, so I don’t envy you. The worst part might be moving all your books–those are heavy!
    I second Brenda’s question: are you redoing your kitchen? If so, you’ll definitely have to post before & after pics.

    Brenda J, we are redoing the kitchen: new cabinets, floor, island is too low so it will be “lifted and extended on one side for stools. I’m hoping to have before and after pictures. The layout is great: around 400 sq. ft. of kitchen with a fireplace and insert. Just needs a new floor and updating. Excited to be doing it. Such a blessing. I’m sorry you have to move again so soon, Brenda. It’s a chore no matter how far you’ve been able to whittle down your possessions. Hope you find an even better place.
    Ladies, your prayers have worked wonders. Hopefully, the Lord will bring us to mind a little longer as we work out all the relocation and find items we packed. The books will be in an outbuilding we call the “studio”. It’s so cool. Just a framed building right now, but maybe down the road … And I gave a lot of books away, but still, in order to carry them, I had so many box-fulls. :/
