Passionate thoughts about the world of writing and the Power of God

One of these days I hope to have pictures up for you to see our place, but in the meantime my reasons for loving the country go way back to where I can't identify them. Some errant gene since I was raised in the city. I longed for horses and the spaces to accommodate them ever since I was a young child.

The beauty of pastures, acreage, unobstructed skies, less night lights which give way to the natural array of starlight and moon glow. The quiet of a dark night unfiltered and not yielding to the sound of traffic and airplane travel. The clear views of sunrises and sunsets. The different terrains in patchwork patterns across large areas with smaller roads weaving in between them leading to a less bustling inner city. A short trip to a bigger city – all access without the pace and population.

Just a few reasons why I love the country . . .

God, it's hard for my family to believe we're here. You did this. Amazing grace. Let us always honor you with this place. As always, we're desperate for you and thank you is never enough. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

Looks beautiful. Where I live now can not by any means be construed as the country (though it’s not far away) but I do appreciate the fact that I grew up in the country, even if it was Maryland. LOL!

Just for clarity, this isn’t a picture of where I live, but there are similarities. And where I live is just as pretty. Yesterday was bright sunshine and the mountain was out in all of his glory (Mt. Rainier) for viewing pleasure out many of our windows. However, the City of the Evil Winds has outdone itself as of late afternoon yesterday, all through the night, and continuing this morning. Wow. Gusts have to be up to 50 MPH or more at times, and it’s not stopping yet. Our makeshift shed for our horse is a mess while we wait for our late order of a permanent setup. Still love this place.

50 MPH? Yikes. And no doubt your temperatures are still quite cold this early in the season. Nope. I’ll stick with Arizona. 😎

Yes, easily. Fortunately, the temp isn’t bad. It’s been getting colder at night but not really last night. Apparently, it blew a lot in other surrounding cities too, but when I drove into town where we used to live, their winds were gone. We’ve still got them even now but not quite as bad as they’ve been. Phew!
(Our friends just bought a second home in Arizona in a retirement city – is it Sun City?)

I’m so with you… I live in an area of lakes, pine trees, and foothills. I love being surrounded by nature. Such a gift!

Yes, Sun City is in the western neck of the Valley of the Sun. 😎

KT-T, it is a gift, and I bet it’s beautiful where you are – at least when you’re “in country”. 😉
