    I see that open shelving concept more and more in design but I don’t like it. Maybe because I’m always thinking from the perspective of a dog owner–when you have dogs carousing you have dust and dander floating. Comes with the territory. I want my dishes etc in closed cupboards.

    That’s true, Brenda. Dog hair gets everywhere. Designed this way almost assures a pet-free home. And I agree, it seems to be trending.
