Passionate thoughts about the world of writing and the Power of God

Okay. Some of you won't like the ornate cabinetry and off-white wood. It contrasts with the dark wood of the large island which from this picture doesn't appear to complement the flooring. I like the brick back-splash behind the range and that section of counters. Is it possible to have too big an island? This doesn't appear to be a small kitchen but maneuvering around that island might prove to be tricky on the stool side.

Lord, there truly is something for everyone in the designs created. You know all hearts, wants, desires. Your creativity knows no bounds. Thank you for beauty that speaks to all hearts. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

I like it. The only thing that seems off, as you mentioned, are the island and floor wood tones being mis-matched. Otherwise, it looks great!

I like the big-ness and the wrap around aspect of all the fixtures/cabinets/appliances. I do wonder about the wide island. Not sure why they’d use that wood tone for the island.

Yeah, I don’t understand the hodge-podge look of woodtones I’m seeing in kitchens. For those who like them to be different, surely there are woods that complement each other. The backsplashes are different, but they don’t compete with each other.
I’m one of those who doesn’t care for ornate cabinetry – lots of crevices to catch dust. I also don’t understand why the cabinetry doesn’t go all the way down to the floor. I can’t imagine the crumbs, etc. I clean my house without any help, so I have to think about stuff like that!
I see your point about the huge island. I think a big island works when one side is open, but when you have cabinets on both sides it might be in the way.
I love the countertops, the lighting and the backsplash. I like the color of the floors, but I prefer real wood.
I hope your kitchen renovation is going smoothly!

Deb, there was some extra unanticipated work on the floor, but it’s all done and I love it as do all who’ve seen it. You’d never know it was porcelain instead of real stone tile. It looks like real tile. The upper and lower cabinets and drawers are in, but the island isn’t completely finished and the countertops are scheduled to be done on Friday along with a bit of the remaining cabinetry trim and pantry doors. Following that, the fridge, stove, and sink will be back in place and the dishwasher. Soon. Then when our son can get to it, it’ll be painted and we’ll be completely back to our new kitchen!
I really don’t get the weird wood tones that don’t blend. Really don’t.
