Passionate thoughts about the world of writing and the Power of God

Can't quite figure out the ceiling but love the rugged beams. Interesting when they go with a different countertop for the island. Purple lovers: what do you think?

Father, again and again, thank you for all the beauty you dispense. Keep us thankful, Lord. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

I’m stumped on that ceiling too. Honestly, it looks like it has a tent draped over it. LOL! I LOVE the color purple–probably my favorite color, but I just don’t know what to think of a purple island. Part of me really likes it and part of me finds it revolting. LOL! It does kind’ve ruin the look because it’s like they left the painting job unfinished–that bottom rack toward the front of the picture.
In a light kitchen like this, I think it works. Would I do it in my own house? Not sure.

At first I thought it might be an enclosed “garden” kitchen, outdoor kitchen, but then not. The bottom rack is odd. I like it because it’s different (the purple I mean), but, yeah, not in my kitchen. Course I’ll use metallic paint in mine on a wall or two – you’ll see 😉 – and think purple is odd but pretty.

You know, if people want the island to be different from the rest of the cabinetry, this looks better to me than two different tones of wood. I think the bottom rack painting job is a mistake of some sort! It’s a decent shade of purple for this purpose, but I know that I soon be tired of it. I love the style of the cabinetry – not the plate rack though. And if that’s a real butcher-block top on the island – wow. Though it looks pretty this way, I would prefer the island didn’t have legs so that cleaning would be easier. And I would rather not have a sink in the island.
I like the floors and ceiling and lighting too.

Definitely a lot to like here, Deb. The cleaning under the legs would not be fun unless there were casters on them which there don’t appear to be. It is a decent shade of purple, but you’d face things clashing with it, I guess. Pretty to look at in the picture, but in actuality?
