No more Castle as you’ve known it . . .

So. No more Kate Beckett on Castle? I will assume the series will not be renewed for a Season 9. I mean, it's been Beckett and Castle from the beginning. I don't think it can effectively work without Stana Katic. Rumors have Stana Katic and Nathan Fillion at total odds with each other, unable to remain on set together other than to do their parts. Really? Sounds like hype and gossip to me even though these rumblings aren't new. And there are now opposite reports regarding Fillion's feelings about working with Katic.

Opinions from you Castle watchers?

    I’ve barely watched it all season. It definitely lost the spark it had in the earlier seasons, and this year just seems to be a repeat of past years.

    I feel like the show has run it’s course… it was always built around the conflict/chemistry between Beckett and Castle. Once they married, it seemed like everything changed.

    For me, it didn’t lose its spark when they married – it lost its spark when they kept the couple apart for stupid reasons and kept airing silly episodes. Once in awhile, okay, but repeated doses of silliness doesn’t work for me. These actors all did drama very well and the show was better with serious drama. It has run its course.

    It was a lot of people’s favorite show, but it’s digressed in its recent history and eliminating Beckett? Not a good choice. I can’t see it being renewed without her. JMO.
