There are still changes from these pictures taken just a week ago. The stairwell is now painted a shade of grey that accentuates the wood and complements the light metallic grey (Ralph Lauren's "Silver Wedding") on the entry wall (where the front door is). The orange in the dining room is Ralph Lauren's "Burnished Copper" which highlights the cedar slabs. In the before pictures of this area the chandelier was extremely low and even I, at 5' 4", bumped my head on it walking through the room. We removed links in the chain to elevate it to a reasonable level. So far, we've used five shades of grey, four metallic shades from the Ralph Lauren collection, and one warm light brown (Miller Paint's "Mantra") on three walls in the kitchen to contrast the Ralph Lauren's "Gilt Bronze" on two walls and the inside of the door leading to the deck. We also used "Mantra" on one side of the hallway and in the living room on two walls.

A partial view of and from our deck:

Special thanks to my BFF Debbie Anderson for her beautiful shots of our home. There will be more!

Father, there are no words to describe the gratitude and utter awe of what you've provided for us. No words could possibly be adequate. Thank you is never enough. Beyond grateful, gracious Lord. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

I like that it all looks so open and inviting. You’ve got breathing room and each space looks comfortable.
You’ll have many happy years there.

Love seeing the pics of your home. As BK said, it does look very inviting. Isn’t it fun watching the changes happen?

It is, Bren. The painting has been so exciting – never have had this opportunity to pick the colors and go for it. So fun. Much appreciation to our son Joseph for doing the interior painting.

Thank you for sharing these! I was hoping to see more! I like the openness. So good to have a son with such a valuable skill. Our son and d-i-l painted our 1190 sf condo – much appreciated!

I can see you sitting out on that deck with your laptop in the mornings writing away. 😎

Brenda, that would be great, but I don’t have a laptop. I’ve got a PC in my office. Maybe one day. I do sit out there and read in the sunshine. 😉
Debra, it’s a gift for sure. He works full time, and sometimes it’s hard to get the energy to do all the prep before the painting, but he’s been a trooper and has done a fabulous job. We’ve told him he can take his time. The next project is downstairs in the rec room aka the football room. He plans to work on it this weekend trying to ready it for regular season Go Hawks!

Yes, Joseph has sure done well to get so much done in such a short time while working full time. If he’s half the football fan you are, he’ll be extra motivated to paint the football room. It will be fun to see those pictures!

We are all crazy Seahawks fans. Today was his day off and he got four of the room’s walls painted. He’s got three more to do. The prep work will be the hardest part of them – around three windows and a sliding glass door. My guess is he’ll get it all done in time. 😉
