Passionate thoughts about the world of writing and the Power of God

How many novels have you read more than once? I can only recall two, both by Kristen Heitzmann, Secrets and Unforgotten. I loved Lance Michelli. I've read portions of novels over again. Some many times, but I've only read those two entire books over again, right after I finished them. An amazing experience I've never been inclined to do again - until reading The Waves Break Gray . . .

Father, thank you again and again for the amazing creativity you give so generously to your writers. I'm in awe of how you inspire and encourage. May those who use your skills know and recognize that apart from you, we can do nothing. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

I haven’t read many more than once, but I have a few go-tos when I want to read something I know will satisfy me: Jane Eyre and Francine Rivers Mark of the Lion series. My shelves are full of books I wouldn’t mind reading again, but my to-read list is too long.

Far and away winner: Zane Grey’s “Forlorn River” which I’ve read probably 8 times over the course of my life and will be destined to read it a few more times before I kick the bucket. I’ve read a few of his other titles, like the “Forlorn River” follow up, “Nevada” a couple of times.
Nancy Turner’s “These is My Words” I’ve read twice. And back in the 70’s and early 80’s, there were good writers writing Star Trek The Original Series novels, and I’ve read a few of those more than a couple of times. And since those good writers seem to have fallen off the face of the earth, I’m sure I’ll be reading them again at some point.
Other than that, I barely get through most novels the first time, much less have a desire to re-read them.

I knew BK would say Zane Grey, but I couldn’t remember the title of her favorite. 😉 You’ve actually read several books several times. Wow.
Bren, you’ve got a few yourself, and I’m with you on the TBR list – it’s just too long as we seek the next one we might consider or might warrant rereading.

The only two novels I’ve read twice are Destination and Sweet Release. Very enjoyable!
As much as I’ve loved other novels, I can’t resist going on to something new. I will probably never get to all the titles I want to!
I finished The Waves Break Gray last night and completely echo your well-articulated comments, Nicole! I’m pretty sure it’s now my favorite Raleigh book. Previously it was The Clouds Roll Away.

    Wow, Deb. I’m honored. Truly.
My favorite Sibella novel was the Alaskan Cruise one (The Mountains Bow Down? the title escapes me at the moment), but I will rank this one right up there with it. Loved it.
There are so many books out there and so little time. It says something for me to read a novel again. Apparently, you feel the same way. Again, thank you so much, Deb.
