Friday Five

                  I%20Get%20the%20Point

Five of my faraway favorite places . . . 

Aix en Provence, France

Venice, Italy

Galway, Ireland

London, England

Paris, France

I don't know if I'd feel the same about these places today as I did when I was a naïve traveler who'd just turned 20. In fact, the current state of a couple of these locations are in turmoil because of their choices so, no, I wouldn't classify them as favorites now. But then . . . yeah, it was an amazing experience to visit them. 

 

Father, thank you for getting me safely home and allowing me to have some unequaled memories. You protected me even when I didn't know you. Thank you is never enough. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

    Well “far away places” for me is anything I can’t reach in a half hour. 😎 So in no particular order:
    1. Asheville (NC)
    2. The Chiricahua Mountains (AZ)
    3. Glacier National Park (MT)
    4. Monument Valley (AZ)
    5. Bryce & Zion (UT)

    And out of your list, Brenda, I’ve only been to Montana and haven’t seen Glacier National Park. Sounds like you’ve been to some beautiful places.

    Haven’t been out of the country except for a 2-hour jaunt into Ontario. Someday, I hope!
    Let’s see, my favorite faraway places would be, and in to particular order:
    1. The North Shore of Lake Superior in MN. Can’t pick a specific place–I love it all! Every time I visit, it becomes harder to return home.
    2. Branson, MO area. The Ozarks are breathtaking!
    3. Disney World – Yes, I’m that person! Our family has always had so much fun there, and we have amazing memories!
    4. Hershey, PA – For so many reasons! The chocolate. The history. The chocolate. The amusement park. The chocolate. The rose gardens. Oh, and did I mention, chocolate? 😉
    5. Garden of the Gods, Colorado Springs, CO. God really had fun creating those rock monuments!

    I know what you mean about whether or not going back to some of these places is wise. I am thankful for the good times, great memories and safety that the Lord gave us.

    Love hearing all of your favorite places, Ladies. Very cool. In country or out of country, God’s amazing beauty transforms us when we witness it. The imagination of man inspired by God to do good things can be evident all around the world just as the opposite inspired by the enemy of our souls can create such evil and horror. Thank God we all have lovely memories of “faraway” places where the Lord has taken us or will take us. His divine protection through our travels is truly so important.
