    Interesting list of questions!
Favorite season: Fall, spring, summer, winter
Places to go: Mountains, desert, mountains, desert 😎
Places to visit: All the wonderful spots in the western United States I haven’t been yet plus all the spots I already have.
Sports to watch: UGH! In the 80’s, early 90’s I would’ve said tennis but my favorite players are retired. Otherwise hate sports.
Means of travel: On foot. On horseback. Automobiles SHOULD be considered a nice means of travel but they mean only long stressful commutes to me.

I didn’t list my favorites (I forgot to do it!) in order or necessarily of places to visit and I put in the desert just for you, Brenda. 😉
So. Here are mine of those on this list:
    Summer/Fall tie.
Ocean/forest/mountains in the summer/I would like to see the Arizona desert
Sports: Football, horse racing (only the Classics now), baseball
I loved Kauai and would love to see the big island of Hawaii. I think I’d like to see New Orleans. I’ve been to Europe when it was much safer and no graffiti on classic structures. 😦
I love to drive (except for the miserable traffic). And horseback would be great but not on any roads or in the pouring rain.

On the automobile’s behalf–I’ve driven up to Flagstaff twice in the last 3 months and when it’s a situation when you can depart on your travels at the time of your choosing and relaxing and enjoy the drive, then by car is a wonderful way to travel. Especially in Arizona where a drive to Flagstaff takes you from the low desert on up to the rising elevations until the smell of pine forests hits you at about 6000 feet when you’re getting to Flagstaff.
Funny–I’ve had Hawaii on my list of things to see but I don’t tend to think much about the landscape–just in terms of seeing the U.S.S. Arizona memorial and the Missouri.
And a note for visiting the desert: Plan on seeing it on foot in a place where the natural desert remains. If you’re only exposure to the desert is what you see from a car on the freeways and main roads, you will be gravely disappointed. All you’ll get from that view is the battered desert that is left after humans have messed it up.

Favorite season: Fall, hands down. Summer is my least favorite. I hate the heat!
Places to go: Lakes! Especially my happy place, Lake Superior. There’s nothing more calming than watching/listening/breathing-in those waters.
Places to visit: New Orleans is the only place I’ve been on your list (only because that’s where hubby had a conference). Would never, ever go again. Not impressed at all. I’d love to go to Australia (actually, I’d rather visit New Zealand). Hawaii wouldn’t be bad, and I hope to visit France within the next couple of years.
Sports: Love baseball and I’m a die-hard Twins fan. I [sometimes] enjoy watching the Vikings. They’re doing well this year, so I make it a point to watch them more. My favorite football team right now is the North Dakota State Bison. My son plays for their marching band and has had the privilege of being at two Bison-winning championships. Rooting for a 3rd championship in 2018!
Means of travel: I love traveling by car, and that’s typically how we go on vacation. God has created so much diversity in landscape in our country, I’m in awe.

Brenda, I also have a relative who has been to New Orleans and said they’d never go back. I have not been at all but boy, it seems to draw strong reactions one way or the other!

My husband and son visited New Orleans. I made the arrangements for them in a vintage hotel in the French Quarter. They loved it. They had to visit my husband’s elderly aunt and an uncle in nearby cities so I suggested they see New Orleans. (I had to have surgery soon after they returned so couldn’t travel.)
They avoided the decadence of certain areas but loved the architecture, music, and history. (My husband was born in middle La. in a tiny town by the name of Converse.) They had a wonderful time.
Deb, I wondered where you’d put Japan after having lived there for a time. Which ocean would you prefer? And the beauty of this country of ours is astounding.
I knew you’d say Lake Superior, Bren. Definitely your happy place. If you do go to France, be sure to visit Aix en Provence in southern France. Such a pretty town when I was there.

I’ve spent the most time on the beaches of the Pacific, having lived 5 1/2 years in California and over 2 years in Japan. Love it!
I enjoyed the small amount of time I’ve visited the Atlantic. We spent a week at a beach resort in the Bahamas – including a day out on a yacht – in 1984. And in 1988 spent a day on Cape Cod.
