Into the Fire

Passionate thoughts about the world of writing and the Power of God

Five things that make me smile:

Our dog

The view out our kitchen and living room windows: Mt. Rainier and the country

Happy dogs (and happy animals) And our frogs singing!

Hearing the Lord's voice (if it doesn't make me cry 😉 )

Horses

Dear God in heaven, how you have blessed my life. Indescribable. So many amazing blessings, laughs, tears, events. Incredible family and friends. No end to what you've given me, your timely rescue, your patience, kindness, forgiveness . . . the list is too big for recall. Thank you is never enough. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

This recent FB video–what I call a cow trying to get to Walmart (I hope the link goes correctly): https://www.facebook.com/weatherfordpdtx/videos/1200513050063428/

My dog Willow when she “buries” her toys in the corner of my couch… except when she buries some dead thing she found outside.
Downloading a new book from a favorite author.
Exercising to the MercyMe’s Lifer album full blast.
My husband guessing what I’m trying to tell him when I can’t remember the person’s name or whatever. Like a crazy game of Password.
Deep, fluffy snowfall when I don’t have anywhere to go.
ps. I miss the view of Mt. Rainier. When I was a kid we lived in the Yakima valley and on a clear day could see the snowcapped peak:)

I knew you guys would find some wonderful things to make me smile. 😉 It’s so cool to read the responses, and I agree with so many of them.
Brenda, totally get it with the art thing. Bren, your husband anxious for the next page is awesome. Barbara, downloading a new novel is superb. Deb, yes, when my house is clean (for a change) is definitely smile-worthy. 🙂
(Barbara, we used to race [Thoroughbreds] occasionally in Yakima [Yakima Meadows] many years ago. We were there one winter when it was the coldest place in the nation for a couple days. We see the mountain now from our home on the other side of the mountains in Enumclaw. When did you leave Washington?)

We moved to Illinois when I was eleven. The fall of 1972 I think. But I usually go back every couple years to visit relatives:)

Must’ve been culture shock, Barbara! Yakima hasn’t changed a whole lot in many years.
