Into the Fire

Passionate thoughts about the world of writing and the Power of God

I loved "America". Their lyrics were always thoughtful, symbolic, not always easy to figure out. Their harmonies and tunes were special and often beautiful. So much talent.

Such talents and gifts, Lord. You give to us all in multiple ways. Thank you for everything. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

Yeah I remember them, as I have most of the groups you’ve shared with us. I love America’s vocal harmonies and the pleasing sound of the instruments.

Me too, Deb. Loved America. Dan Peek (the one featured in Tin Man) became a born again Christian and left the group because he said he couldn’t walk his talk in the lifestyle of a rock ‘n’ roll musician. He died at the age of 60 . . . and went to be with the Lord.

I was thinking I had heard that. Now I’ve got this fuzzy memory that I read it on your blog – a post featuring America and Horse With No Name. Always good to hear of people coming to Christ!

I definitely posted that song on here, but did I mention one of them had come to Christ? I don’t know, but you’re right. It’s a joy to hear of those who find Jesus.
