This turned out to be quite a thought provoking post for me because I realized that in the world of fiction (in which I must include TV as a higher source than books due to impact) I had a hard time making a list.
#1 is easy – Spock. He is my favorite character above all & no one else even comes close to him as my number one pick.
    After that, Adam Cartwright.
For books, the only selection I can make is “Nevada” Jim Lacy from Zane Grey’s “Forlorn River” & “Nevada” books.
After that I can think of no super-special outstanding characters from books, and while there were a lot of other male characters I liked on TV, they are not strong enough for me to prioritize in a list.
Huh. I’ll keep that in mind as I write. The main reason I write is to write what I can’t find. Evidently this is part of that.

Hmmm. Interesting, Brenda. Maybe for the next Friday 5 I’ll do my favorite TV male characters (they’re shooting through my brain as we “speak”). I definitely found it easy to find them (other than my own creations) in the novels I’ve read as seen by the numerous ones in the “fifth” spot.

I’m going to keep mulling over the male characters from books matter–see if others come to mind that I haven’t thought about in a while…

Good choices! I need to read Bell’s Romeo books!
Five favorites … Gotta think …
I’ll second Mitch Rapp & Patrick Bowers
And I’ll add Marcus (can’t remember last name) from Francine Rivers’ A Voice in the Wind,
Aragorn in Tolkein’s Lord of the Rings,
    and …
is it arrogant if I include my own character? I admit I fell in love with Richard Brooks during the writing of my first book in my Coming Home Series, and I fell deeper with each story. 🙂

Oh, and I love Brenda’s choices of Spock and Adam Cartwright, and I completely agree with Debra’s choices, Roland March and Zach Bower.

Yes! I forgot Zach Brewer, Deb. And forgot Roland March’s name (too hurried to look it up ;/ ). Will add them to my number “fives” list. Thank you for adding Matt – I loved him too. I’m afraid I loved all my men in my books. Hahahaha!
And, yes, of course you can add Richard Brooks. He is a great character, Bren!
