. . . what you get? How often does that apply to you as a person? What do you see when you look in the mirror? Is that image who you are? What does what you see in that mirror tell you about yourself? Your history? Your personality?
Do you ever evaluate yourself by that statement? "What you see is what you get." Does that mean the image you project captures everything significant about you?
A mirror image reflects. But that's all it can do. Reflect the physical picture we present. So how often is that mirror image enough to depict who you are to a stranger? What does it say about you?
We can change that image and we do over time. We age, we dress differently. Sometimes we color our hair or it changes color on its own and we let it be. Everything we are or that we become can be reflected in an image, but is that image who we are or even who we want to be?
Is that a statement we want to make? "What you see is what you get." Is that true for you?
Father, let me portray an image of who you designed me to be, the one who worships you in spirit and in truth. That's the one I want to be. Help me to be that one. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.
