That time again! Part Five

  Merry Early Christmas

Few novels – if any – have touched me like this one by Francine Rivers. The Masterpiece is indeed a masterpiece for me. For lovers of Francine Rivers contemporary novels, I cannot recommend this one highly enough. Many readers love her biblical literature as her research and touching creativity are impeccable, but The Masterpiece and Redeeming Love top my list of favorites and perhaps they will also be a hit with your list of readers, plus there are many more of hers from which to choose.

    So, are you looking forward to seeing the Redeeming Love movie? I’ll go see it, but I’m nervous how they’ll ruin it.

    Yes, but I, too, am a little nervous about it. I know it didn’t become a movie years ago because Francine had script approval. Hopefully, she still had that in this contract.
    It’s that same fear I had when I saw the casting for American Assassin. The movie itself was a good thriller – but it wasn’t American Assassin by Vince Flynn. The only perfect casting was Michael Keaton as Stan Hurley. He nailed him. They certainly didn’t cast Mitch right or Irene. Not even close. And they changed the plot/reason for Mitch becoming who he was. Totally disappointing if you expected to see the real Mitch Rapp (and Irene) and the novel the way it was written.

    I agree about American Assassin. Keaton was fabulous, but the rest? I didn’t care for the story either. Very disappointing but not unexpected.
