Into the Fire

Passionate thoughts about the world of writing and the Power of God

Five silly questions:

Does anyone hate putting stuff on their hands – lotions, hand sanitizer? The only thing I'll put on my hands is Gold Bond Ultimate Healing – and only if my hands need it.

Who likes country music? I do not.

Does anyone else bite their fingernails? I started biting mine in 7th grade (the worst year of my life) and haven't quit yet.

What movies that you saw at a theatre did you hate? Dances with Wolves and Carnal Knowledge

What is one silly thing you did as a kid that you remember how it felt? My BFF and I rode our bikes up to Woodland Park Zoo to see Johnny Crawford (from the series "The Rifleman"). We waited all day at the wrong entrance to the park and never got to see him. Very disappointing.

Father, you made us all unique and yet similar. Your creation is desperate for you. Always. Thank you for providing our rescue in Jesus, available to all. In the Name of Jesus, Amen.

Oh, I need lotion! Winters are so dry here, that I’m constantly moisturizing my hands.
Completely agree with you on country music!
I don’t bite them unless I chip one and don’t have a clipper or file handy.
Gone Girl and Terms of Endearment (Saw ToE with my mom and sisters when it came out because it received raves from everyone. None of us liked it at all.)
I remember playing with matches with my cousin when we were really young. We’d start a fire in a brushy area and stomp it out. Well, one time we weren’t quick enough to stomp it out. The adults came running, and my cousin and I scattered. Never played with fire again!

Oh yeah, with you on Gone Girl and both of those movies (even though I didn’t see ToE). I might be confusing Gone Girl with another movie with Gone in the title. Either way, didn’t trust the critics/raves on these two. (Did GG have a missing child in it?)
Yikes! That would’ve been scary with the fire that got away. Lesson learned. 😉
What’s funny about my hand thing is that I always put any kind of horse liniment/medicine on our horses with my hands. Didn’t need gloves or balk at doing it – didn’t even occur to me. But lotions, sanitizers, etc., for human hands? Yuck! That’s why Gold Bond is all I use because it absorbs almost instantly and I don’t have to feel it for long. Crazy, I know. 😉

Stuff on the hands: I use a lot of hand lotion because I have dry skin and it just doesn’t retain moisture the way normal people’s skin does. However, I can’t stand the slimy feel of hand sanitizer, sunscreen and such because it leaves a residue. Hand lotion does not.
RE: Country Music. I LOVE country music and ONLY classic country music –which means anything up to the early 1990’s. After that, for the most part, it began to sound very mundane. No better story tellers than country musicians. The only rock ‘n roll I ever listened to was the blasting stereo of my older sister. So many of the best country artists have passed away now, but thankfully their wonderful music is preserved.
No biting fingernails. I rarely go to movies and I’m extremely persnickety in choosing movies.
I’m sure I did plenty of silly things as a kid but I’m older than dirt and can’t remember back that far. LOL!

I recall silly things from my youth, teen, post teen, adult years, etc. I mean, there’s a never ending list of them – and it seems I can remember them when I least want to. 😉 And I’m older than you, Brenda.
Ah, one of those country music fans. Nope, not here.
Yeah, I hate stuff on my hands.
